Back from Zaragoza. 3: Zaragoza

Last post about my recent visit to Zaragoza.
The previous posts were about people: the first one about the speakers of the the 2nd De Vuelta con el Cuaderno meeting, and the second one about everybody else.
These ones are all about this fantastic city, full of wonderful places and lovely people.

Back from Zaragoza. 2: People around

This is a sequel of the previous post.
All the drawings are portraits (or so) of the people I met those days while attending lectures, eating, drinking, talking, walking, singing, dancing...

Back from Zaragoza. 1: The lecturers

Last weekend I went to Zaragoza with my neighbor Lapin for the 2nd De Vuelta con el Cuaderno meeting. I had the opportunity of drawing together with him, Luis Ruiz, Toño Fernández, Swasky, Josu Maroto and some other 70 sketchers. But this was only in the afternoon. For three days we spent the mornings attending lectures from big masters that shared their experience and knowledge, and came in the afternoon to draw with us.
It was intense, and so funny. Unforgetable days.

This first post is dedicated to the speakers, click on their names to know more about them.
(To be continued).

And the great Alfredo González.

My first SketchCrawl in Barcelona

I arrived to Bologna on july 8th 2001 and left it on july 8th 2010, same day, month and figures but since I'm not a cabalist I think its just a curious coincidence (not to mention that my birthday is july 7th, sometimes I receive this big gifts).
After this 9 years season, I moved to Barcelona to start another one. New town, new people, new urban landscapes to draw, new sketchcrawl pals...
These are drawings made on july 31th in Barcelona on my first SketchCrawl. I found a nice group of artists even if many of them were on holiday.

SketchCrawl in Modena

These are drawings made on may 22th in Modena where we made our SketchCrawl. It was a great surprise that we met some kind of motor show everywhere: dozens of old and new cars, bikes, scooters, tractors... As I once told, this is an area of Italy which heart doesn't beat but roar (at 7.000 rpm) so this this simple "regional" show was made all by pieces by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Ducati, Pagani, Piaggio, Lambretta and so on.
Not so much architecture and city scapes that day, we were too hypnotized!

Barcelona, toccata e fuga

Two weeks ago I had a fast trip to Barcelona. I could spend some nice hours with urban sketchers Samantha Zaza and Lapin. Obviously we spent some of our time together sketching, as they reported here and here.
A memorable day.

Exhibition opening

Some days ago Romina Bruscia, a fellow sketcher, inaugurated in Bologna an exhibition of her works.
I went with some friends and took some sketches.

Now that it seems I'll leave this house on the next months I suddenly want to draw every corner.
