My 42nd Sketchbook (Backpack #9)
This gorgeous sketchbook with that beautiful leather jacket and the word "freekhand" embossed on the cover, was the gift Inma Serrano made me for my birthday on july 7, 2011. It lived in my backpack from march 31 to july 7, 2013, my birthday again.
The drawings were made in Sitges, Barcelona and Sevilla.

My 40th sketchbook (backpack #7)
This sketchbook came inside the welcome bag at the Urban Sketchers Symposium that took place in Lisbon on july 2011 and lived inside my backpack from july 8, 2012 and january 1, 2013 whille I filled it with drawings made from life in Barcelona, Santo Domingo, Clermont-Ferrand, Vic and Jávea.
As opposed to my previous backpack sketchbook, this was a mild slide from beginning to end. I felt always good with the format and the paper, and even if I changed techniques the response was always good. It was the first time I used a Stillman & Birn sketchbook and I can make sure it will not be the last.

My 36th sketchbook (backpack #6)
This sketchbook was really promising but I never got along with it. Although I did not go to the Urban Sketchers Symposium in Portland, Gabi Campanario sent me one of the copies left over (thanks Gabi! ;). I was eager to start drawing on it, but when I finished my previous sketchbook and the moment came, I was in a period of not so much clarity (let's say) and this went on for all the pages. It was a constant groping in the dark, from the beginning till the end. Furthermore, watercolor worked really bad. As a result, there are pages more and less fortunate. I'm even satisfied with a few of them, others are absolute misses. Here are them all from first to last.
This sketchbook lived in my backpack between October 30, 2011 and May 6, 2012. I drew it in Barcelona, Clermont-Ferrand and Málaga. It was a long journey together  and I should have learnt something (I hope so).
